The Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies at the Technical College of Engineering, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, organized a training course entitled ((Energy Sources and Their Role in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals)) in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College.

The course addressed several important topics, most notably the impact of traditional sources of electrical energy on the environment, where the negative impact of fossil fuel emissions was highlighted and the potential of renewable sources such as solar energy, wind, and hydropower in supporting sustainable development and reducing the environmental impact was reviewed.

The course also discussed the challenges and obstacles facing the use of renewable energy sources, such as high cost and lack of infrastructure. In addition to discussing the role of governments and institutions in promoting the use of renewable energy by setting supportive policies and encouraging investments in this field.

This course comes within the framework of the efforts of the Middle Euphrates Technical University to enhance knowledge of the importance of adopting clean energy, and its role in supporting scientific research and innovation, which contributes to achieving comprehensive national development.
