The Technical Engineering College of Petroleum and Energy / Al-Muthanna holds a workshop entitled (Domestic violence: its types, causes, motives, and ways to address it)
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Engineering Technical College of Petroleum and Energy, one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, held an awareness workshop entitled ((Domestic violence: its types, causes, motives, and ways to treat it)) as part of its ongoing efforts to spread social awareness and promote a culture of respect within the family.
The workshop targeted female college students, and addressed several topics, including:
Types of domestic violence: physical, psychological, economic, and social.
Causes of domestic violence: economic pressures, customs and traditions
Motives for domestic violence: poor awareness, absence of deterrent laws, and social and cultural influences.
Ways to address domestic violence: raising awareness, promoting a culture of dialogue, providing legal and psychological support, and empowering women economically and socially.
The workshop witnessed a distinguished interaction from the attendees, as important interventions were presented about the impact of domestic violence and ways to reduce it, which reflects a growing awareness of the importance of a stable family.
