Al-Zubaidi Attends Research Discussion Sessions at the 18th International Scientific Conference of Middle Euphrates Technical University and the 4th Conference of Samawa Technical Institute for Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Middle Euphrates Technical University, attended the specialized sessions for discussing accepted research papers at the 18th International Scientific Conference of Middle Euphrates Technical University and the 4th Conference of Samawa Technical Institute for Engineering and Applied Sciences, held in partnership with Linköping University (Sweden) and Sumy State University (Ukraine) under the slogan: “Technical Research is the Gateway to Solutions for a Better Future.”

The conference aimed to highlight the pivotal role of engineering and applied sciences in providing fundamental solutions to societal challenges.

During his attendance, Al-Zubaidi praised the efforts of Iraqi researchers and their role in advancing scientific research across various fields, emphasizing that no progress in any sector can be achieved without scientific research.

The sessions featured scientific discussions and interventions by the University President, participating researchers from Iraqi public and private universities, government institutions, and international scholars. Notably, the event saw participation from most Iraqi public universities, six private universities, and over 35 researchers from 15 countries, including:

• United Kingdom, United States, Ukraine, Denmark, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan, and the UAE.

Distribution of Accepted Research Papers (382 Total):

• 110 in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering
• 194 in Pure Sciences
• 83 in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence
• 58 in Biology & Medical Physics
• 4 in Renewable & Alternative Energy (Solar, Wind, Hydrogen Fuel)

All submitted papers underwent rigorous evaluation based on criteria set by the conference’s scientific committees.

1. Dr. Iryna Ablieieva (Linköping University, Sweden) – Presented via video link on:
   “Bioremediation of Soil Contaminated by Military Operations.”
2. Dr. Yevhen Bataltses (Sumy State University, Ukraine) – Presented via video link on:
   “Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection.”
3. Dr. Abdulbaqi Khalaf Ali (Advisor to the Ministry of Oil, Iraq) – Attended in person and discussed:
   “National Roadmap for Energy Transition and Emissions Reduction.”

Scientific Oversight:

The Scientific Assistant to the University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadi, supervised the research paper discussions according to scheduled timelines. The sessions were chaired by distinguished academics from public and private universities.
