The College of Petroleum and Energy Engineering Technology, in cooperation with the Inspectorate of Antiquities and Heritage of Al-Muthanna Governorate, organized a workshop titled “Preserving Cultural Properties in Iraq: Challenges and Digital Solutions.”
The workshop discussed the types of cultural properties in Iraq and the key challenges facing their protection, with a focus on digital documentation as a vital tool for heritage preservation. It also showcased the latest technologies used in this field, including:

🏛 Architectural Heritage (historic buildings, forts, ancient mosques)
🌿 Natural Heritage (unique geographical and environmental sites)
🎭 Intangible Heritage (customs, traditions, folkloric arts)
The sessions emphasized the importance of employing digital technologies to document, study, and sustainably preserve Iraq’s rich cultural heritage.
