The Middle Technical University of Al-Furat holds an awareness seminar titled: The Role of Meteorology in Protecting Citizens from Natural Hazards.

The seminar included an instructional lecture delivered by Mr. Mohammed Kadhim Sahl, Director of the Meteorological Department in Samawah, in which he highlighted the most prominent weather monitoring techniques, weather forecasting mechanisms, and early warning systems. Key topics covered:

✦ The nature of the Meteorological Department’s work.
✦ Monitoring climate changes in Iraq in general and Muthanna Governorate in particular over recent years.

The seminar was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, the College Guidance Officer, and a number of students.

The seminar aimed to:
✔ Enhance students’ awareness of prevention and safety culture.
✔ Open avenues for cooperation between educational institutions and environmental and climate-related authorities.
