Establishment of the Petroleum Drilling and Production Engineering Department

Under the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the direct supervision of the President of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and with the follow-up of the university’s assistant presidents, the Technical Engineering College for Oil and Energy has obtained official approvals to establish a Department of Petroleum Drilling and Production Engineering.

This initiative aligns with the strategic vision of the ministry, led by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to advance technical education and expand scientific disciplines in line with labor market demands.

This achievement is the result of the direct and outstanding efforts of the college dean, Prof. Dr. Sabah Mohammed Al-Mutawagi, through his diligent follow-up on all establishment requirements.

The new department represents a significant addition to the energy sector, contributing to the development of specialized technical professionals. It further extends the qualitative steps overseen by Dr. Al-Mutawagi and his team in advancing technical education within Al-Muthanna Governorate.
