Breaking News: President of Middle Euphrates Technical University Announces Ministerial Approval for Establishing Two New Colleges and 22 Departments in Specialized Disciplines.

In line with efforts to develop higher education and enhance the quality of the educational process, the President of Middle Euphrates Technical University, Dr. Hasan Lateef Kazem Al-Zubaidi, announced the approval of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naem Al-Aboudi, to establish new academic units in various medical and specialized fields within the university’s structure.

This step underscores the importance of expanding academic disciplines and providing more diverse educational opportunities for students, thereby strengthening their capabilities and skills in multiple fields.

The new additions include two new colleges and 22 academic departments/branches for the 2025-2026 academic year, distributed across the university’s campuses as follows:

New Colleges:

1. College of Health and Medical Technology – Babylon
   • Department of Radiology and Sonography
   • Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy
2. College of Medical Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Technology – Najaf
   • Department of Prosthetic Limb Rehabilitation Technology
   • Department of Prosthetic Limbs and Assistive Devices

A Historic Achievement

Dr. Al-Zubaidi congratulated the university’s units, department heads, academic and administrative committees on this milestone, noting that this is the first time the university has witnessed such a large-scale expansion in morning study programs since its establishment.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to developing programs that meet labor market demands, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, while phasing out outdated departments that no longer align with societal needs.

These new specializations are expected to address labor market demands and provide qualified professionals in vital fields.

This announcement aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s ongoing efforts to advance and improve the quality of education in Iraq.
