Technical College of petroleum and Energy in Al-Muthanna Holds Training Workshop on Electronic Payment Tools and User Protection

The Deanery of the Technical Engineering College for petroleum and Energy / Al-Muthanna, in partnership with the Al-Samawah Technical Institute and in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Holy Hussainiya Shrine / Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department – Al-Thaqalayn Cultural Center, organized a scientific seminar titled “Cybersecurity and an Aware Society” at the conference hall. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sadiq Hassan Al-Lawzi, the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Sabah Mohammed Al-Mutawagi, and a number of faculty and staff. The seminar was moderated by His Eminence Sheikh Aqeel Al-Tarfi.
The seminar focused on several key themes:
🔸 Raising societal awareness of the risks of intellectual and cultural influence and social media platforms.
🔸 The impact of cultural and intellectual invasion on religious and ethical values and the family unit.
🔸 Linking cybersecurity to religious values and protecting individuals’ privacy from exploitation.
🔸 Caution against suspicious websites and harmful cyber breaches.
🔸 Promoting a culture of digital transformation and the safe use of computing technologies.
The seminar featured an open dialogue where all questions were addressed. It concluded with the presentation of appreciation gifts to the visiting delegation by the deans, and a number of professors were honored with gifts from the shrine delegation. The visiting delegation expressed gratitude for the excellent organization and warm reception.
The event also included a tour of the college classrooms by the visiting delegation, during which the Hussainiya Shrine delegation provided religious and educational guidance, emphasizing the integration of knowledge-seeking with values and ethics, and instilling a sense of responsibility in the use of technology and engagement with society.
