Students of Middle Euphrates Technical University on a Scientific Visit to the Samawa Refinery

As part of enhancing cooperation between educational institutions and the oil sector, the Technical Engineering College for Oil and Energy / Al-Muthanna, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, organized scientific field visits for students from the college’s scientific departments:

🔹 Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies
🔹 Department of Oil and Gas Engineering Technologies

to the Samawa Refinery, which is affiliated with the Midland Refineries Company.

Students observed the production units and operational equipment used in oil refining processes.

The visit program included field tours of various sections of the refinery, along with awareness lectures on occupational safety and health procedures, which represent a top priority in industrial environments.

The students also visited the refinery’s central laboratories, where they learned about the mechanisms for conducting oil tests and quality control. This provided them with a comprehensive practical overview of the stages they study theoretically.

These scientific visits are part of the Middle Euphrates Technical University’s plan to link theoretical study with field application and prepare qualified personnel for their specializations.
