Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Holds a Training Course on “Safe Handling of Chemicals”

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance occupational safety and improve scientific knowledge, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, represented by the Department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering Technology at the College of Engineering Technology for Oil and Energy in Al-Muthanna, organized a training course on “Safe Handling of Chemicals.”

The course aimed to raise participants’ awareness of how to handle chemicals safely in various work environments, especially in the fuel and energy sectors, where chemicals play a crucial role.

The course covered several key topics, including:

• Classification of Chemicals (explaining the types of chemicals used),
• Preventive Measures (providing tips on the use of protective equipment),
• Safe Storage and Handling (methods for storing chemicals safely),
• Disposal of Chemicals (guidelines for the safe disposal of chemicals).

Through such courses, the university aims to promote a culture of safety and professionalism, improving safety levels in laboratories and industrial sites, contributing to the creation of a safer and more sustainable work environment.
