Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University celebrates the graduation of the tenth group of its students for the academic year 2023-2024 (Science and Construction) course

In a solemn carnival, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University celebrated the graduation of the tenth batch of its students for the academic year 2023-2024, the course (Science and Construction)

The number of graduates reached (9,032) nine thousand and thirty-two graduates in preliminary studies who hold technical diplomas and technical bachelor’s degrees in various specializations (engineering technology, administrative, financial, accounting, health, medical, agricultural, and applied arts), in addition to graduates who hold advanced master’s degrees and technical doctorates.

The carnival, which was sponsored by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, witnessed a large presence of a number of presidents of public and private universities and their representatives, and a number of officials in the local government.

And my assistants to the university president, deans, faculty, associates, students, and families of graduating students.

The carnival began with a display of the slogan (the Ministry, the university’s slogan) carried on the shoulders of the students, then the parades of institute and college graduates and professors, followed by a parade by the members of the University Council and concluded by the President of the University, to the tunes of the choir playing music.

Mr. President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latef Al-Zubaidi, representing His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a speech in which he said that the university

● We stand today with feelings filled with pride and pride in front of this moment that embodies the fruit of effort and hard work for us in the teaching staff, and for the graduate students and their families.

● Your university extends across five governorates: Najaf, Karbala, Babylon, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna. It is organized as if it were a thread of light along the two shores of the Euphrates, where our great history, the nobility of our civilization, and the domes of our pure Imams are located.

● On this special day, we all bear witness that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is a beacon of science and knowledge, and a bridge linking the fragrant history and the authenticity of the present, to create a generation that carries hope for our beloved country.

● Our dear students…

This year, the university made great strides towards excellence through:

• Improving the university environment by adding a number of high-quality buildings and increasing green spaces.

• Improving the teaching and learning process by adding 13 qualitative laboratories in all its faculties.

• Entering international classifications, including the Times classification, with an advanced rank locally and regionally. In addition to the international presence in more than one international conference organized by the university in cooperation with some Turkish and Indian universities and international publishing houses, it held six memorandums of cooperation with international universities and five memorandums with international organizations.

•The distinguished role played by the Center for Continuing Education in providing various services to teachers and employees at our university and other public and private universities.

• Graduate qualification courses organized by the university and the Riyada project sponsored by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and job fairs held annually. The university implemented 1,046 courses and workshops from which 25,909 students and graduates benefited in the field of rehabilitation and employment, in addition to 16 courses in the Riyada initiative, and more than 700 graduates were employed in the Private sector.

• The creation of 18 new scientific departments, in addition to the College of Petroleum and Energy Engineering in Samawah, which comes in response to the needs of the labor market, emphasizing the university’s role in keeping pace with technical and scientific development.

•We promise that the future will bring more innovation and development so that our university will remain at the forefront of institutions that contribute to building a prosperous Iraq.

•Graduates… your journey does not end today, but rather begins. With the knowledge and information you have gained, I advise you to break free from the virtual world and be an actual part of the reality of life. Deal with challenges with creativity and be part of the solutions.

• Remember that true success does not come from closed offices, but from hard work in the field, and from interacting with life in all its details.

•Work to develop your projects, be leaders of creative work teams, and face challenges with courage.

•Iraq and your local communities need new solutions and the development of projects to serve sustainable development.

•Finally… I recommend that you set long-term goals and constantly strive to achieve them in order to build a better society.

Meanwhile, the representative of the graduating students delivered a speech in which she praised the efforts made by the university, the deans of colleges and institutes, professors and associates to provide a safe and comfortable environment for their students, in addition to the science, knowledge and skills they acquired during their years of study, which qualify them to enter the labor market later.

The carnival included a number of activities The ceremony included awarding certificates to graduates of colleges and institutes, reciting the oath, and a candle march in commemoration of the blood of the martyrs. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of gifts to the top outstanding students at the university’s institutes and colleges, and taking souvenir photos.
