Minister of Higher Education Receives Chinese Ambassador to Discuss Strengthening Scientific and Educational Partnerships

Baghdad – His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Mr. Cui Wei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Baghdad, to discuss enhancing scientific and educational collaboration between universities in both countries.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of expanding joint academic cooperation and proposed the establishment of an Iraqi-Chinese University specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Digital Technologies. He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to implementing its strategy aimed at diversifying knowledge sources and embracing leading global experiences in AI and technological innovation.

Ambassador Cui Wei expressed China’s eagerness to strengthen academic cooperation in education and technology, welcoming the initiative to establish a specialized AI institution. He affirmed that such a university would contribute to knowledge infrastructure development and support sustainable development goals.

The discussions highlighted both nations’ shared vision for advancing scientific research, technological exchange, and human capital development through strategic academic partnerships.
